About Hantex

Kerala State Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society Ltd.

Kerala State Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society Ltd No. H.232 (HANTEX) the apex body of primary handloom weavers’ co-operative societies in Kerala was established in 1961. There were 523 numbers handloom societies registered under Hantex and more than 20000 handloom weavers' in these societies are producing handloom fabrics for Hantex. The main objective of Hantex is to market the products of member societies and to give them adequate institutional support. Hantex owned 76 showrooms spread all over Kerala and has an average turnover of Rs.35 crores per annum. All the production and procurement activities of Hantex are covered by 4 Regional Offices and 6 Production Centres throughout the State. Hantex also owns two weaving factories and a Garments Unit set up with most modern machinery.
Hantex has stood in the last 62 years to help handloom industry and its weavers' since then depict the age old heritage and culture of our nation.

National Handloom Development Programme(NHDP)

Under the Block level Cluster Scheme, developing handloom clusters at a cost of Rs. 60.00 lakhs to identify handloom clusters with concentrations of 500 to 2000 handlooms, provide facilities such as training, luggage and equipment delivery, general facility center and workshop.

Refund of funeral expenses of weaver’s death(Handloom)

If death occurs by members of weavers of co-operative society, then funeral expenses of Rs.5,000/- will be given to those family members.
